Model: Odyssey

Released: Apr 2009

Honda's popular people-mover has been completely redesigned for 2009. Continuing with the low-slung wagon theme, it will be less slab-sided and feeature a nose reminiscent of the all-new Insight. Mechanically, a new 2.4-litre i-VTEC twin-cam 16-valve four-cylinder petrol engine has been adopted.

Model: Focus

Released: Apr 2009

The restyled LV-series Focus small car first appeared locally six months ago in the form of the XR5 performance model, the rest of the range will go on sale in April. The big news item for the Focus is the introduction of a new six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission availability with the 2.0-litre Duratorq turbo-diesel engine.

Model: Clio - RS F1 Team R27

Released: Apr 2009

Renaults hot hatch, the Clio Renault Sport F1 Team R27 will be launched locally in April priced at $39,990. With 40 individually numbered cars, it features ‘Cup Chassis’ suspension settings, 17-inch charcoal colour alloy wheels, red brake callipers, Recaro front seats and Renault F1 Team decals.

Make: Porsche

Model: Cayenne - V6 TDI

Released: Apr 2009

Porsche has officially confirmed that it will produce a diesel-engined Cayenne, powered by VW's 176kW/550Nm 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 engine and linked only with a six-speed Tiptronic-S sequential semi-automatic transmission. Official average fuel consumption is rated at 9.3L/100km.

Model: Mazda3

Released: Apr 2009

The next Mazda3 – due to be unveiled at the 2008 LA motor show will grow larger and roomier than today’s BK-series. Mazda will implement much of the lessons in weight reduction it has learnt from the current MX-5 and new-generation Mazda2 for its redesigned small car.

Make: Nissan

Model: Maxima

Released: Apr 2009

Nissan previewed Australia’s next-generation Maxima at the 2008 Beijing motor shpw. Called the Teana in China, it differs in terms of styling from the US market model but shares the same front-wheel drive platform. The Maxima is likely to be powered by a revised 3.5-litre VQ35DE petrol V6.

Model: Civic - hatch

Released: Apr 2009

Honda Australia will import the British-built Civic hatch as a mainstream model when the mid-life facelift is introduced in the middle of 2009. The five-door Civic will be a high-specification model and will be priced from around $35,000.

Make: Kia

Model: Soul

Released: Apr 2009

Kia's new SUV-styled five-door hatch is expected in Australia by April 2009, priced at about $21,000. The tall stance and wheel-at-each-corner style is said to create a generous interior designed to appeal to active young urban dwellers. Engine choices will include 2.0-litre petrol and diesel units.

Make: Audi

Model: Q5 - 2.0 TDI and 3.2 FSI quattro

Released: Apr 2009

Audi will introduce two additional variants to its mid-sized Q5 SUV range in April. The $59,000125kW/350Nm 2.0 TDi, and the $69,900 199kW/330Nm petrol 3.2 FSI V6. The 2.0TDI has an average fuel consumption of 6.8L/100km while the 3.2 FSI is rated at 9.3L/100km respectively.
