Jaguar will update its XE medium sedan range in August, which has been reduced to just two variants, down from 15. Diesel versions and the top-spec supercharged V6 are gone, with a 221kW/400Nm four-pot the only remaining engine option.

Jaguar will expand its XF range in January to include the Sportbrake wagon, which will be offered with three powertrains consisting of two diesel and one petrol, as well as including a limited Launch Edition variant.

Jaguar’s first all-electric SUV, the I-Pace, is set to arrive in Australia in the fourth quarter to take on the likes of the Tesla Model X. The I-Pace is motivated by two electric motors on opposing axles, producing a potent 294kW/696Nm.

Following the success of the F-Type Convertible, Jaguar will unleash a Coupe version of its latest sportscar in late 2014, with a 405kW 5.0-litre supercharged V8 ‘R’ variant set to headline the range. A pair of V6 engines will also be available, with all powertrains linked to a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission.

The XKR-S, with its 405kW of power and 680Nm of torque on tap, will race to 100km/h in just 4.4 seconds and is likely to crash through the $300,000 barrier when it arrives Down Under. Top speed for the fastest series production Jaguar ever is listed at 300km/h, which is 50km/h faster than the XKR.

A scowling new face and other cosmetic exterior and interior tweaks will be the most obvious changes to Jaguar's 5 Series rival. Refinement will be improved and a new four-cylinder diesel engine producing 140kW of power and 450Nm of torque will combine with a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission in Jaguar's eco-XF. Revised XFR flagship to appear as well.

Jaguar will replace its aging 2.7-litre turbo diesel engine in the regular XF model range late in 2009, with a new 3.0-litre twin-turbo 202kW/600Nm engine, which uses 12 per cent less fuel at 6.9L/100km on the European cycle, and can sprint from 0-100km/h in about 6 seconds.

Jaguar is expected to launch its performance XFR in late in 2009. Powered by a supercharged 5.0-litre, direct-injection V8 capable of 0-100km/h in 4.7 seconds. Exterior changes include a bodykit comprising of a new front bumper with chromed lower air intakes, twin bonnet vents, boot spoiler, and quad exhaust.

Seven years after it first emerged, Jaguar's compact X-Type won't be replaced but given a facelift involving 500 new components. Due here mid-year, the MY09 X sedan's base (2.1 LE) pricing remains unchanged at $53,990, the 2.2D LE costs $55,490 and V6 AWD prices start at $70,000.

Released: May 2008

Jaguar’s all-new XF luxury sedan replaces the S-Type and is due on sale in May, with an opening price of $105,500 for both the 2.7-litre diesel V6 Luxury and the 3.0-litre petrol V6 Luxury. The XF 4.2-litre petrol V8 Premium Luxury will cost $130,500, with the flagship XF 4.2-litre SV8 at $166,700.

Jaguar chose Geneva to unveil its facelifted 2008 XJ sedan range, due on sale here in the final quarter. Coming in for mostly cosmetic upgrades, the 08MY XJ has a new Jaguar Growler badge, front bumper, XK-style side power vents, a subtle rear decklid spoiler. There are no engine changes.

Like the new XJ sedan, the next-gen XK coupe/convertible will adopt some of the stylistic details of the R-D6 Frankfurt motor show concept (pictured). Codenamed X150, the new V8-powered XK8 and XKR will be based on the all-alloy XJ saloon, finally putting the 1975-vintage XJS platform to pasture.

Released: Dec 2004

Based on Jaguar's new XJ large sedan is the long-wheelbase version, which debuted globally at the 2004 New York motor show. To be available Down Under from late this year on an order-only basis, the XJ LWB adds five inches to its donor car's length, 24kg of extra weight and a number of new options.

Jaguar continues its volume chase with the X-Type Estate, which goes on sale in Europe in the second quarter of 2004 and is under consideration for sale in Australia. Like the X-Type saloon, the estate can come with four-wheel drive and a choice of V6 engines, plus turbo-diesel propulsion.

Jaguar Australia will revive the historic XJ6 nameplate when it adds a six-cylinder variant to its XJ large sedan range in May. Featuring similar standard equipment to its V8 siblings - including satellite-navigation, television and telephone - the XJ6 will command a smaller $150,000 pricetag.
