Model: X5 - 4.8is

Released: Jul 2004

BMW's range-topping X5 4.8is is due to arrive on sale Down Under in July as the successor to the 4.6is. Expected to deliver sub-six-second 0-100km/h pace, the new X5 flagship will carry a pricetag to match. It will also feature the facelifted X5's new AWD drivetrain and six-speed auto, plus 20-inch wheels!

Make: Honda

Model: Odyssey

Released: Jul 2004

Honda revealed an all-new Odyssey at the 2003 Tokyo show, and it’s due on sale here in mid-2004. The third-generation Odyssey has an 80mm-lower roof, 5mm greater headroom and a lower centre of gravity. Expect a 118kW/220Nm 2.4-litre i-VTEC base engine with seven-speed CVT gearbox, for under $50,000.

Make: Alfa Romeo

Model: GT

Released: Jul 2004

Making its public debut at the 2003 Frankfurt show, Alfa Romeo's stylish new GT coupe will go on sale locally in July. Based on the 156 Sportwagon platform and featuring a 176kW 3.2 V6, the Bertone-designed GT will effectively replace the 156 GTA and eventually the GTV, at $79,990.

Make: MG

Model: ZT - 220S

Released: Jul 2004

MG Rover Australia is set to expand the MG ZT model range with the addition of the MG ZT220S in July. Powered by a supercharged version of the Rover Group 2.5 V6, power and torque are about 20 per cent up at 165kW and 288Nm in either manual or automatic. The kit adds $9900 to the cost of the ZT.

Make: Alfa Romeo

Model: 166

Released: Jul 2004

An update of the 166 luxury car was featured at the 2003 Frankfurt motor show and will go on sale in Australia in July. The update, performed by Alfa’s styling centre, includes a new shield grille, headlights, bonnet and bumpers, plus extensive changes to interior materials, colours and trims.
