Model: Passat

Released: Apr 2011

Volkswagen is going high-tech with the redesigned Passat and offering trickle-down luxuries from its higher models plus safety gadgets such as automatic emergency braking and fatigue detection. The BlueMotion model will consume a hybrid-like 4.2L/100km, emit just 109g/km of CO2 and have a theoretical tank range of more than 1600km.

Make: Renault

Model: Latitude

Released: Apr 2011

Renault's new flagship will replace the slow-selling Laguna. Possibly built in South Korea alongside the third-generation Samsung SM5 sedan on which it is based, it is expected to come with many comfort features including dual-mode air ioniser with fragrance diffuser, triple-zone climate-control, a massaging driver’s seat, Bose premium audio and hands-free phone connectivity.

Make: Saab

Model: 9-5

Released: Apr 2011

Now under Spyker control, Saab will be back in Australia with its all-new 9-5 large sedan leading the charge. Powering the most technically advanced Saab ever made will be a range of petrol, diesel and E85-compatible engines with outputs ranging from 118kW to 221kW.

Model: Territory

Released: Apr 2011

Ford's Australia's next-generation Territory will be built using a development of the existing vehicle’s Falcon-based platform. It will be engineered with a range of powertrains ranging from Ford's venerable straight-six, plus an imported V6 turbo-diesel.

Make: Honda

Model: Jazz

Released: Apr 2011

The facelifted Jazz could be released here with 1.2-litre and 1.4-litre four-cylinder engines, the latter available with an optional continuously variable transmission (CVT). The top-spec Jazz is likely to be offered with optional leather upholstery and a number of other premium touches like chromed ings for the air-vents, instruments, climate controls and dashboard.
