Model: Captiva - CDTi

Released: Mar 2007

Holden will launch another Captiva model variant in the first quarter of 2007. With a 110kW/320Nm 1.9-litre turbo-diesel engine – as seen on the Astra CDTi small car.

Make: Volkswagen

Model: Eos - Convertible

Released: Mar 2007

March 2007 will see the local release of Volkswagen's striking Eos convertible, production of which was brought forward from July to March 2006. A belated successor for the previous-generation Golf cabrio, the four-seater coupe-convertible is dimensionally half way between Golf and Passat.

Make: Chevrolet

Model: Corvette - Z06

Released: Mar 2007

Chevrolet's iconic Corvette goes on sale in Australia for the first time in latest C6 Z06 guise in March 2007, via importer/converter Corvette Queensland. On sale in the US since late 2005, it packs a 377kW 7.0-litre V8 dubbed LS7. Expect a Brisbane show debut and a $100,000-plus pricetag.

Make: Peugeot

Model: 207

Released: Mar 2007

Bigger than the original 306, Peugeot's new 207 will sit alongside rather than replace the current 206 when it arrives here in March 2007. Engines should include new 85kW/160Nm VVT-equipped 1.6-litre and 110kW/240Nm 1.6 turbo petrol fours, plus an 80kW/240Nm 1.6-litre turbo-diesel HDi.

Make: Kia

Model: Sorento

Released: Mar 2007

KIA Motors has previewed the facelifted Sorento, which will come with a more powerful new 176kW 3.3-litre V6 and a 135kW diesel with variable-geometry turbocharger. There's also a revised exterior and a newly configured interior with more rear legroom and a higher-quality dash.

Model: Crafter - LCV

Released: Mar 2007

The large van and cab-chassis Crafter replaces LT as VW’s large Sprinter commercial van rival, and is regarded as the third-generation LT. The all-new Crafter bears little resemblance to its predecessor and offers a variety of wheelbases, load compartment lengths and roof heights.

Model: Compass

Released: Mar 2007

Jeep's first soft-roader, the all-new Compass, arrives Down Under in March - the same month the iconic US off-road brand's redesigned Wrangler goes on sale here. Aimed at the likes of Toyota's RAV4, it will be powered by 2.4-litre petrol and VW-sourced 2.0-litre diesel engines.

Make: Honda

Model: CR-V

Released: Mar 2007

Honda’s next-generation CR-V compact soft-roader will be much bigger and much more refined. It features an improved real-time all-wheel-drive system and a new tailgate that lifts up vertically instead of barn door-style. Expect a new 110kW/190Nm 2.0-litre petrol engine, with 6M and 5A transmissions.

Make: Mercedes-Benz

Model: CL-class

Released: Mar 2007

The flagship Mercedes coupe has been redesigned and the all-new model arrives here in February. Bigger and borrowing CLS styling cues, the new CL has so far only emerged in CL500 and CL600 guises, with a 285kW/530Nm 5.5-litre V8 and a gruntier 380kW/830Nm 5.5-litre twin-turbo V12.

Model: Cooper

Released: Mar 2007

BMW's second-generation Mini Cooper and Cooper S three-door hatches will be revealed at the Melbourne International Motor Show in March, following a Paris show global debut. They feature longer new exteriors and more powerful new 1.6-litre four-cylinder naturally-aspirated and turbo engines.

Make: Mitsubishi

Model: Outlander - V6

Released: Mar 2007

Mitsubishi’s redesigned Outlander SUV was launched in December 2006 with a 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine mated to a new six-speed CVT. The new seven-seat Outlander will make an even more tasty proposition in 150kW/352Nm 3.0-litre V6 guise when it's launched around March 2007.

Make: Volvo

Model: C30

Released: Mar 2007

Volvo used the 2006 Sydney motor show to reveal its new C30 hatch, which will intially be offered in naturally-aspirated 125kW 2.4-litre five-cylinder and hot 162kW 2.5-litre T5 guises. A 134kW 2.0-litre D5 turbo-diesel is also expected. Volvo's three-door A3 rival is 220mm shorter than the S40 sedan.

Model: Megane - Diesel

Released: Mar 2007

Renault's new Phase II Laguna dCi will be joined by two more turbo-diesel models in early 2007, including the facelifted Megane Phase II and Scenic Phase II. Two common-rail turbo-diesel four-cylinder units are planned – a 78kW 1.5-litre dCi and a 96kW 1.9-litre dCI

Model: Tiburon

Released: Mar 2007

A midlife facelift for Hyundai's Tiburon coupe is expected on sale in Australia in early 2007. Featuring "a subtle redesign of the front and rear with an emphasis on new optical elements", it's the first update for Tiburon since its global release in September 2001 and its Australian launch in March 2002.
