Car reviews - Toyota - Prius - i-Tech 5-dr hatch
9 Jul 2004
The Prius does not suffer unduly because of the battery pack below the rear seat. The back seats folds flat, with a 60-40 split to allow luggage to be carried while passengers are sitting in the back seat. The luggage area will hold a quite acceptable 456 litres of luggage and there is an extra covered storage compartment under the floor. A roll-out security blind keeps items being stored in the boot out of sight. The under-floor cover can be removed so that suitcases can be carried in an upright position. The space-saver spare tyre is located under the supplementary storage compartment. Other storage areas are located in the twin front gloveboxes, the centre console box and in the front door pockets (which include bottle holders), front seat-back pockets, and in-dash and overhead auxiliary boxes. Twin cupholders are provided at the front of the centre console, and there are two more cupholders at the rear of the centre console.
