Chunkier looks were the result of a modern nose and tail graft, with the Falcon’s signature circular tail-lights finally giving way to square wrap-around units. The indicators did the same up front too.
Only the XR/XT doors remained.
The dash was also remodelled, with added safety padding. The GT also gained grille-sited driving lights and bonnet catches.
Power outputs rose to 216kW/520Nm from the new 5.8-litre V8, housed with a four-speed manual floor shift or a three-speed automatic.
