Car reviews - Holden - Barina - 3-dr hatch
9 May 2001
INTERIOR space has increased in the new-generation Barina. In particular, front shoulder width has increased 80mm in the three-door and 75mm in the five-door model. Front seat occupants also have 15mm more headroom, while rear seat passengers have 6mm more legroom. Dual airbags are standard, however, rear passengers do not receive head restraints the centre-rear position also uses a lap seatbelt, an inferior design to a three-point (or lap-sash) belt. There's not an overabundance of storage spots though map pockets are contained in the front doors and a large open bin in the centre console can hold an assortment of items.
Did you know?Barina's frontal area is about seven per cent larger than its predecessor, though the car's total aerodynamic drag is almost six per cent less. The drag co-efficient is 0.32
