Alloy Wheels

Once all cars were fitted with wheels made from steel, and many are still so equipped, with fancy plastic covers.

But a great number of cars are now fitted with alloy wheels, which are lighter and look better.

They were once known as “mags” because they were made from magnesium alloy, but now the variety of metals used includes mainly aluminium to achieve the light weight.
