High-riding Volkswagen Passat Alltrack scores Wolfsburg limited-edition updates

IT MAY be classified as a large SUV, but Volkswagen’s Passat Alltrack shouldn’t be seen in the same light as a Toyota Kluger or a Ford Everest.
Introduced into Australia in 2016, it has a couple of SUV-like qualities – namely all-wheel drive and an increased ride height – but in some regards it is a lot more useful than many large sports utility vehicles.
In fact, many people who are looking at a large SUV would probably be better served looking at a car like the Alltrack.
In an interesting move, Volkswagen has waved the Wolfsburg wand over the Passat Alltrack, following in the wheeltracks of more performance-focused stablemates like the Golf R and Scirocco, and the changes have produced a vehicle that’s become a bit of a hybrid of the best – and worst – that the car industry has to offer.
