J31 Series II Maxima

The stylish J31 Maxima underwent a series of changes for the 2006 model year, beginning with the implementation of a super-smooth CVT continuously variable transmission with six speeds, in place of the old conventional four-speed unit.

While power and torque outputs remain at 170kW and 333Nm, from the VQ35DE 3.5-litre 24V quad-cam V6, the upshot of the new gearbox is better fuel consumption and reduced emissions.

Maxima fans will spot the new headlights, bumpers, tail-lights, alloy wheel design and dual exhaust pipes, while on the inside there are new trims and colours.
