C5 Series II

1 Mar 2005

Underneath a truly dire nose and tail-lift lurked worthwhile improvements to the cabin and drivetrain.

The HDI diesels – accounting for up to 80 per cent of previous C5 sales in Australia – arrived first, boasting a new 98kW/314Nm 2.2-litre HDI unit and more standard equipment.

The base SX came in June, and featured a smoother and gutsier 2.0-litre petrol engine producing 109kW and 200Nm.

It was joined by an updated 3.0-litre V6 emitting 155kW and 290Nm, transmitted through a new six-speed automatic gearbox.
