New models - Volkswagen - ID.BuzzID.Buzz gains new variants, more kit for MY27California camper, Pro+ on the agenda for MY27 VW ID.Buzz line-up29 Jul 2026 By TOBY HAGON THE ID.Buzz has become the new home of people-mover love at Volkswagen, with the all-electric retro machine now outselling the more traditional Multivan - and the brand expects that gap to keep widening.
Volkswagen puts the Buzz's momentum down to its iconic styling and its place at the innovative, electric end of the range.
And it's likely to get more attention, with a raft of changes for model year 2027 plus special-edition treatment on the way.
"That's the positioning of Buzz … it has that really iconic look to it," said Michelle Rowney, Head of Product and Marketing VW Commercial Vehicles.
"It's very style-driven and it is that innovative, moving into that electric vehicle space."
First up is the Goodnight Package, a signature Volkswagen camper “touch bundling” a bed, blinds and a camping table and chairs; it’s due within months.
"The Goodnight Pack just brings that Volkswagen element to the car," said Rowney. "These are the things that you get with a Volkswagen van that you don't get with a competitor van."
Further out, an ID.Buzz California - a full camper version to sit alongside the Multivan-based California model - is slated for late 2027, bringing the same overnight capability to the electric platform.
The MY27 update also broadens the core ID.Buzz range.
There's a new Pro+ trim line slotting between the existing Pro and the GTX, a new white/red two-tone paint option and a swag of additional equipment across the board, including bi-directional charging capability (something that still needs to be verified with local testing).
There’s also an updated driver attention and alert system, front cross traffic assist, predictive speed limiter, driving experience selection and dynamic road sign display.
The ID.Buzz line-up now spans four variants.
The Pro opens the range at $75,990 for the SWB five-seater and $80,990 for the LWB seven-seater.
The new Pro+ steps up to $84,990 (SWB five-seat) and $89,990 (LWB seven-seat), adding 20-inch alloys, comfort electric front seats with massage, second-row seat heating, park assist with memory and navigation.
The performance flagship GTX, with two motors producing 250kW and delivering 4Motion all-wheel drive, lands at $106,990 as a LWB seven-seater, while the Cargo van rounds things out at $69,990.
Critically in an increasingly competitive EV market, entry pricing on both the people mover and the Cargo carries over unchanged despite the added equipment.
