AFTER a busy start to the year releasing the Premacy mini people-mover, Tribute soft-roader and facelifted 323 range, Mazda is now focussed on giving the rest of its passenger car range the limited edition treatment.
First up is a special version of the 121 Metro dubbed the Platinum Edition, which is based on a 121 Metro Shades with the larger 1.5-litre engine.
The recently released limited edition model offers $1900 of additional equipment for $600 more than the standard 121 Metro, with the manual version priced at $19,370 and the auto at $20,875.
As part of its platinum status, the limited edition Metro comes with air-conditioning, electric windows, remote central locking incorporating an alarm, alloy wheels, a roof-mounted spoiler and floor mats.
Only two exterior colours are available - Platinum Silver (an exclusive colour for this model) and Passion Red.
The platinum edition Metro is the first of a range of limited edition models Mazda will introduce between now and September, including special versions of the 323 Protégé, 626 and MPV.
