FORD Performance Vehicles used the Australian International Motor Show opening at Sydney’s Darling Harbour this morning to unveil a limited edition that celebrates five years of production under the FPV banner.

Based on the GT sedan, just 200 examples of the FPV 5th Anniversary model will be produced, giving it a similar level of exclusivity as the 40th Anniversary GT and the Cobra.

FPV claims its five-year commemorative special adds more than $9600 of extra features over the GT sedan yet, at $71,890, costs only $5300 more.

Additional mechanical equipment includes new 19-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels finished in Alpine Silver, plus a premium six-piston Brembo brake package, while specific cosmetic extras comprise a unique “FPV 5th Anniversary” decal and an exclusive 5th anniversary striping package.

Otherwise, the equipment list is as per the GT, comprising dual-zone climate-control air-conditioning, a sports leather steering wheel with cruise controls, alloy pedal covers and a premium six-CD sound system with iPod connectivity.

“In only five short years, FPV has grown to become an icon in Australian performance motoring,” said FPV general manager Rod Barrett. “In recognition of this milestone, we have put together a vehicle which will ensure this tradition continues.”
