Honda Australia keeps the faith in light sedans with its new City run-about

IT MIGHT not sell anywhere near as many as its Jazz hatch-back sibling, but Honda Australia says it believes its just-launched sixth-generation City light sedan should achieve sizeable volumes.
Honda has made significant improvements to its entry level sedan, with a focus on fuel efficiency, NVH (noise, vibration and harshness) levels and on-road performance, while connectivity has been boosted in an effort to appeal to its target demographic women in their mid-30s, among others.
While the City is classed as a light sedan, its size, including a massive 536-litre boot, means that buyers will likely shop it against models a segment up including the Nissan Pulsar and Holden Cruze as well as the more obvious contenders in the light class.
But are the improvements to the new City enough to help Honda rebound in the light segment after a few years of sliding sales?
