Car reviews - Holden - Vectra - CDXi 5-dr hatch
16 Jul 2003
THE old Vectra had the occasional styling flourish, like a bonnet crease that swept back into the mirrors. But it has nothing like the originality of the new car, which previews a corporate styling direction for GM's European division, Opel. Expect to see more of it on other models Opels sold here like Astra and Barina, and even exerting some influence of the next generation VE Commodore. For all the oddness of those vertical headlights, the rest of the shape - be it sedan or hatch - is very clean, crisp and European. The hatch-only CDXi is distinguished by a sports bodykit that includes unique front and rear sports bumpers, rear spoiler, black bezel headlights and dark lens tail-lights.
