Car reviews - Ford - Laser - SR2 5-dr hatch

SR2 is currently the only way buyers can get their hands on the new 2.0-litre engine powering the Laser. Its insertion has necessitated a number of mechanical modifications and its timing coincides with a general Laser facelift, which on the inside includes lidded cup holders, new fabrics, a brushed silver centre dash on all models bar LXi and the addition of a front passenger seatback pocket. Safety enhancements to the body structure, increased body rigidity and several suspension modifications were also made. The SR exterior speaks for itself - loud and proud, with a large rear wing, big-bore chrome exhaust tip, side skirts, side rocker mouldings and 16-inch alloy wheels shod with low-profile tyres.
Did you know? The main external difference between the SR and SR2 is the alloy wheel size (15-inch versus 16-inch respectively)
