Nissan banished the vertical grille for a horizontal item, fitted new headlights and bumpers and lengthened the redesigned tail for the N16 II makeover.
Inside new trim, revised instrumentation and updated audio were also included.
The 1.8 engine was thoroughly revised with a variable valve timing device, yet power output dropped to 90kW while torque rose to 163Nm.
From May ’04 all Pulsar sedans were equipped with dual front airbags and anti-lock brakes, falling in line with the European hatchback versions, while the Q gained a sunroof and fog lights.
