Audi launches two-year after-sales add-on

Purchasable Advantage Program can bolster models up to eight years of age

24 Jun 2022

AUDI Australia has announced a vehicle ownership program that allows its customers to purchase a two-year combined service, warranty and roadside assistance package for Audi models up to eight years of age that have clocked up less than 120,000km.

Pricing starts at $2700 for a two-year Audi Advantage program for an Audi A1, while the most expensive package costs $5600 (for the 5.2-litre V10-engined R8 supercar).

New-vehicle customers can buy these two-year programs back-to-back at the time of purchase, to extend the current manufacturer warranty beyond the current five-year timeframe. This, Audi Australia says “allows new-vehicle owners the security of a full factory warranty for up to nine years”, which is transferable to future owners of their vehicle.

"In designing this program, we wanted to ensure that Audi owners are the envy of the Australian premium market, said Audi director and group managing director of Volkswagen Group Australia, Paul Sansom.

"Not only did we want to provide a program that gives our owners complete confidence in their vehicles for an extended period of time, but one that also secures the value of their investments, should they decide to trade-up to newer models in future."

"We believe the Audi Advantage program provides the ultimate in peace-of-mind for premium vehicle owners in Australia."

Any Audi model that is newer than eight years of age (excluding e-tron models, for which the program is not yet available) that has travelled under 120,000km (consistent with the 15,000km per-year Audi service schedule), is eligible for the program, subject to a few prerequisites, the firm says…

Vehicles need to have a complete service history carried out to the manufacturer's specifications (not necessarily by an Audi service centre).

Eligible vehicles must also pass a 115-point inspection, carried out by an authorised Audi service centre. This is the same inspection that qualifies Audi vehicles for the Approved Plus pre-owned sales program.

Meanwhile, all Audi Approved Plus pre-owned vehicles now come with a minimum of two years’ servicing, warranty and roadside assistance. As with new vehicles, customers of pre-owned Audis will be able to buy the Audi Advantage two-year programs back-to-back at the time of purchase, to extend the current manufacturer warranty.

Depending on the age of the vehicle, this allows owners the security of a full factory warranty for up to 10 years, which is also transferable to future owners of their vehicle.

The warranty and service plan elements come in addition to any remaining new-vehicle warranty and service plan that is attached to that vehicle. In order to be eligible for the program, vehicles need to meet the same prerequisites as for Audi Advantage eligibility.

"We believe the Audi Approved Plus program is the most comprehensive certified pre-owned offer in the Australian market," Mr Sansom added.

"At a time when the prices of pre-owned vehicles are as high as they have been right across the market, we believe the Audi Approved Plus program places our owners in the best possible position to maintain the value of their investment."
