New models - Mazda - CX-6 - eMazda prices CX-6e from $53,990 + ORCOrders open at $54K + ORC for CX-6e, Mazda Australia’s first mainstream electric SUV13 Apr 2026 MAZDA Australia has confirmed pricing and specification for its new CX-6e battery electric medium SUV, listing it from $53,990 plus on-road costs for the CX-6e GT model and rising to $56,990 for the flagship Azami.
Order books are now open ahead of local deliveries scheduled from September. As with its 6e sedan counterpart, the first 1000 CX-60e customers who pre-order a GT variant will receive a complimentary upgrade to the Azami, representing a $3000 saving.
The CX-6e enters a fiercely contested BEV corner of the medium SUV segment, undercutting the Hyundai Elexio (from $58,990 + ORC), Tesla Model Y (from $58,900 + ORC), Renault Scenic E-Tech (from $55,990 + ORC), Kia EV5 (from $56,770 + ORC) and Volkswagen ID.4 (from $59,990 + ORC).
Other close competors include the BYD Sealion 7 (from $54,990 + ORC) and Deepal S07 (from $53,900 + ORC), while the CX-6e will share showroom space with Mazda’s petrol-powered CX-5 (from $37,240 + ORC) and petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid versions of the CX-60 (from $44,740 + ORC).
Sharing much with the similarly priced Deepal S07 from Mazda’s Chinese partner Changan Automobile, the CX-6e features a rear-wheel-drive layout pairing a 190kW/290Nm electric motor and a 78kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, delivering a claimed WLTP driving range of up to 484km.
Mazda says a 30-80 per cent battery top-up takes as little as 15 minutes at a DC fast charger.
The cabin adopts a minimalist, tech-focused layout that Mazda says was inspired by the Japanese concept of “ma”, centred around a large digital interface with ambient lighting and premium finishes.
Mazda has furnished the entry-level GT with a high level of specification including a large-format central display, head-up display, 360-degree camera system, tri-zone climate control and a 23-speaker audio system.
The range-topping Azami adds more premium touches, including digital exterior and interior mirrors and larger 21-inch alloy wheels.
Both variants support a dedicated Mazda smartphone app and Bluetooth key functionality, providing “utmost” convenience and peace of mind to owners.
Other app-enabled features include remote climate control operation, door locking/unlocking, power window operation and vehicle tracking.
Standard safety kit for both variants comprises autonomous emergency braking for turning across traffic with pedestrian and cyclist detection, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, emergency brake assist and lane-keep assist, plus what Mazda describes as the CX-6e's "unobtrusive driver monitoring system".
Mazda says the CX-6e is a key step in its electrification strategy and that it is designed to retain Mazda’s “Jinba Ittai” driving philosophy, with a focus on driver engagement despite the shift to electrification.
