Car reviews - Mitsubishi - Mirage - sedan
Mitsubishi’s Mirage LS sedan offers a lot for a little, but there are compromises
6 Oct 2014
MITSUBISHI’S reborn Mirage city hatch arrived with a bang back in July, but sales in the bottom end of the light car segment – now known as micro cars – have slowed in the past year.
That hasn’t stopped the Japanese brand from giving it another crack, this time with a booted version of its smallest model.
The Mirage sedan is one of very few options in the light car segment, but with narrow margins and low sales compared with the light hatch offerings, it is going to be a tough slog.
Keen pricing and a generous-for-the-price equipment list should ensure people shopping at the bargain end of the new-car market will notice the Mirage, and it might even take a few sales off models a segment above it.
While the Mirage offers undeniable vale for money, is it more cheap than cheerful to drive?
