Car reviews - Mini - Clubman - Cooper
Mini Clubman is a special blend of quirks, driving pleasure and everyday liveability
20 Jun 2016
FORGET the connotations of the name, for this Mini is just 500mm shorter than the original VB Commodore, and more than 200mm wider. But boy does the Clubman pack in a lot of character, fun and feel-good factor between those barn-style rear doors and its iconic Issigonis-inspired snout.
Gone is the single ‘suicide’ door that in right-hand-drive markets could be as deadly as the name suggested, replaced with a pair of conventional items that contribute to the creation of a six-door body and what is the most usable Mini yet.
Our test vehicle was optioned up to the max, turning the entry level Cooper Clubman into a technology-packed pleasure pen on wheels. We had to give it back after a week, but we did so begrudgingly.
