C209 CLK Series II

THE CLK Coupe and Cabriolet underwent a facelift in late 2005, receiving a new grille, bumpers and body trim, along with a freshen up of the interior.

A new 3.5-litre V6 engine was introduced, in the newly named CLK350, providing 200kW of power and 350Nm of torque, while a 170kW/300Nm 2.8-litre version of this engine was installed in the CLK280.

Both replaced the CLK320 and CLK240 3-valve V6s respectively.

Another innovation was the implementation of a seven-speed automatic gearbox (called 7Gtronic) in place of the previous five-speed automatic units.
