FIAT Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has let loose on special edition vehicles at this year’s Geneva motor show, unveiling the Nurburgring Edition of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio and Giulia Quadrifoglios, as well as a Fiat 500 Collezione and the previously reported Abarth 124 GT and 695 Rivale.

At this stage however, it is unclear which, if any, of these new variants will make it into Australian showrooms.

“There are several vehicles revealed at Geneva that we’ve expressed interest in, and we’re evaluating their suitability for the Australian market,” FCA Australia corporate communications senior manager Dave Harding told GoAuto.

While Mr Harding could not specify which models are currently being considered, special edition FCA vehicles would not be a new sight on Australian roads with Fiat 500 Anniversario joining a list that includes versions from Gucci and Diesel in November last year.

To celebrate record laps at the infamous Green Hell circuit in Germany, both flagship Stelvio and Giulia Quadrifoglios gain numbered badging in the carbon-fibre dash insert and Circuito Grey livery in ‘NRING’ form.

The new heads of the Alfa Romeo pack also benefit from the inclusion of carbon-ceramic brakes, carbon-shell Sparco racing seats, Mopar gear knob, and leather, Alcantara and carbon steering wheel as standard.

Carbon-fibre is also used for the front badge, side-view mirror caps and side skirt inserts.

Only 108 examples of each model will be made and all are powered by a Ferrari-developed 2.9-litre bi-turbo V6 that produces 375kW/600Nm and can accelerate the red-blooded Italian pair from zero to 100km/h in less than 4.0 seconds.

Sister-brand Fiat also debuted its 500 Collezione micro car on the Geneva show floor to capture the enduring model’s “timeless style and design”, as well as its “ever-fashionable personality”.

Changes in the special-edition 500 include exclusive colour and material combinations, unique-look 16-inch alloy wheels, chrome detailing, two-tone colour scheme and special badging.

The 500 Collezione is available in Europe from March in both hatchback and convertible body styles powered exclusively by a 51kW/102Nm 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine.
