Peugeot boosts standard kit on 308 Active
Rear camera, sat-nav with three-year map updates now standard on Peugeot 308 Active
7 Oct 2016
PEUGEOT has upped the price of its 308 Active small hatchback by $1100 in return for the standard fitment of a reversing camera and satellite navigation system with three years of complimentary map updates.
Now priced at $27,990 plus on-road costs, the Active is Peugeot’s best-selling 308 variant among Australian private buyers and the Woolworths supermarket chain fleet.
Peugeot Australia values the additional standard tech at $2000, including the MapCare sat-nav updates it says are worth $450 over the 308’s three-year warranty period.
The 308 Active sits above the entry level Access variant (from $19,290 with a manual transmission) and is powered by a three-cylinder 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine developing 96kW of power and 230Nm of torque, driving the front wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission.
Australian Peugeot sales were down 16.5 per cent to the end of September compared with the same period last year, the only model registering a sales increase being the 2008 compact SUV (up 24.7 per cent with 293 sales year-to-date).
The critically acclaimed 308 range remains the Parisian brand’s top seller with 1058 units YTD, a 12.9 per cent drop over last year’s result of 1215 sold.
