Competing against the likes of the related Peugeot Expert and Toyota HiAce, the Scudo Series 3 is powered exclusively by a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine delivering 110kW/370Nm to the front wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission to return a combined cycle fuel consumption figure of 6.3 litres per 100km.
Short- and long-wheelbase configurations are available, providing Scudo customers with up to 6.6 cubic metres of cargo space and payloads exceeding 1300kg. Dual sliding doors are offered for maximum accessibility, while an extended ADAS driver assistance suite improves occupant safety.
Comfort and technology features are extended to include a heated driver’s seat and steering wheel, rain-sensing wipers, and a 10.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
The entry grade Scudo further offers Curtiba grey fabric upholstery, a glazed bulkhead, 270-degree rear barn doors, load compartment wall protection, front and rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, 10.0-inch digital instrument cluster, heated and power folding mirrors, automatic halogen headlights with high beam assist, and a full-size spare wheel.
The high-grade Primo trim (from $50,990) adds dual-zone climate control, keyless entry and ignition, LED head- and cargo area lighting, and Fiat’s Mobile Office functionality alongside Liquid Palladium interior garnishing, body coloured exterior door handles, a wireless phone charging pad, and a load-through bulkhead flap.
Visually, the revised Scudo takes on Fiat Professional’s global design language combining what the Italian manufacturer says is “functionality with modern design”, while inside the three-seat cabin we find a car-like driving position with “excellent visibility and ergonomic access, high quality materials and thoughtful storage solutions”.
ADAS enhancements include autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot assistance, driver attention alert, intelligent speed assist, lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, and six airbags.
Four paint colour options are available including Gelato White (NCO), Cinema Black, Maestro Silver, and Colosseo Grey. Premium paint colours attract a $990 price surcharge.
The only remaining option is a rear liftgate at $770.
Fiat Australia offers the Scudo range with the backing of a five-year/200,000km warranty including five years of roadside assistance. Service intervals are set at 12 months or 20,000km (whichever comes first). Scheduled service pricing is yet to be detailed.
