Rolls Royce extends Phantom's appeal

Rolls-Royce's long-wheelbase Phantom EWB sedan made its Aussie debut in Melbourne

17 Feb 2006

ROLLS-ROYCE gave its new Phantom with Extended Wheel Base its Australian debut at the Melbourne motor show last week and while it’s not the most expensive car at the show – that honour goes to Pagani’s $1.2 million Zonda Roadster – its $1,095,000 sticker price (plus registration and stamp duty!) still leaves plenty of potential for optional extras.

As with the regular Phantom sedan, the EWB can be had with up to 45,000 combinations of paint colours, special woods, fridges, wine cellars, safes, humidors and computer equipment.

Featuring an extra 250mm of body length housed behind the B-pillar, the Phantom EWB features a much larger rear passenger compartment and is the second new model to be built at the BMW-owned Rolls-Royce Motor Cars factory at Goodwood, England.

The Phantom, which attracted 796 customers in more than 40 countries last year, and Phantom EWB will be joined by the Phantom convertible, Rolls-Royce’s third new-generation model, in 2007.
