Audi updates A6 and A7 ranges

Tweaked styling, interior and exterior colour schemes, Virtual Cockpit now available

7 Jun 2023

MINOR updates to the Audi A6 and A7 ranges have been announced for Europe, the sedan, wagon (A6) and Sportback (A7) trio receiving modest changes to rear and frontal styling, variant-specific grille finishes, and grade-dependent interior outfits.

A range of new interior and exterior colours are also offered alongside new alloy wheel designs and updated equipment levels.

Audi says the offering structure for the A6 and A7 lines are part of a “new structure (that) offers customers greater clarity and more room for individuality”, adding that the interior of the models may now be “designed independently of the exterior package customers select”.

Basic, Advanced and S line packages are characterised by their own unique design elements.

For example, the Singleframe grille’s honeycomb centre is finished in Matte Black on both models and framed with a Chrome surround. On the Advanced line, which is reserved specifically for the A6, the grille is finished in Dark Chrome with a Selenite Silver surround. The Advanced model also receives its own side air intake and diffuser finish and sporty 18-inch alloy wheels.

The S-line trim is available on A6 and A7 models and is characterised by a Singleframe grille with Chrome inserts, and a rear diffuser in Platinum Grey (A6) or Chrome (A7). Additionally, the S-line exterior of the A6 offers side air intakes in Matte Black with Platinum Grey inserts, widened side sills, sports suspension and 19-inch alloy wheels.

Interior modelling for the new S-line package draws heavily on the outgoing S-line Sports package. Here, the dashboard, interior trim and roof lining are all finished in black. The multifunction sports leather steering wheel is likewise finished in black, with contrasting stitching. The pedals and footrest are dressed in stainless steel.

Audi says the upholstery of the S-line interior uses a Sequenz fabric and leather combination for the A6 and Dinamica Frequenz micrbofibre and leather combination with S embossing on the front seats for the A7. The door sills are trimmed with aluminium inlays illuminated with S lettering.

A total of 12 paint finishes are now available for the A6, A7 and their S derivatives. For the first time these include Arcona White and Madeira Brown which join Grenadine Red and Ascari Blue on S models and S-line packages. Further, there are eight different interior garnishes to choose from, including wood inlays in Olive Tree and Ash Volcanic Grey and those upholstered in Dinamica microfibre.

Wheel choices have been “fundamentally revised” with additional dark finishes across both the A6 and A7 line-up.

The A6 sedan and wagon now sport 17-inch forged aluminium alloys in a 10-spoke design as standard. Larger 18-inch alloys in a multi-spoke design and with a Graphite Grey finish are available optionally, joining a 19-inch five-arm dynamic design, high-gloss 20-inch wheels in a 10-spoke star design in Black Metallic, and 21-inch alloys in a five double-spoke design and in Graphite Grey or “motor sport inspired” five-arm alloys in Platinum Grey.

For the A7 Sportback, 19-inch alloys in a 10-Y spoke design now come in Graphite Grey and join five-arm double spoke 20-inch wheels for the S7 in Platinum Grey. Option wheels include 20-inch five-segment-spoke Evo alloys in Matte Black, and 21-inch alloys in five-arm parallel spoke design with burnished finish, or classic five-arm multi-spoke design in Matte Grey finish.

On the technology front, Audi will now offer its 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit (digital instrument panel) as a standard feature alongside LED headlights with a contoured DRL signature and Park Assist Plus.

Audi Australia has not yet confirmed when the updated A6 and A7 lines will make their way into local showrooms.

The current A6 range is priced from $95,500 - $232,200 plus on-road costs with the A7 beginning at $125,700 and topping out at $239,200 +ORCs.
