Second-generation Series II CT200h

1 Oct 2017

In October 2017 a late-life facelift for the Lexus CT200h arrived, following on from the current generation model’s early 2011 launch and 2014 mid-life upgrade with subtle styling changes plus fresh infotainment and safety features.

Signified by a new wire-mesh front grille, redesigned front and rear bumpers, and a renewed tail-gate with L-shaped LED tail-lights on entry Luxury and flagship Sports Luxury model grades, the middle-tier F Sport further added a dark chrome outline and extra black wire mesh to its grille, black mirror caps, as well as larger lower bumper inserts than before.

Across the range the CT200h added as standard a pre-collision warning with pedestrian and forward vehicle detection, autonomous emergency braking (AEB), lane departure warning with steering assist, active cruise control and automatic on/off high beam. Inside, a 10.3-inch screen replaced the previous 7.0-inch unit, while F Sport added two new trim options.

There were, however, no changes to the 73kW/142Nm 1.8-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and 60kW/207Nm electric motor duo, which delivered a 100kW system output, nor the 650-volt nickel-metal hydride battery. It continued to claim a 10.3-second 0-100km/h with combined-cycle fuel consumption of 4.1 litres per 100 kilometres.
