Infiniti Q30Q301 Aug 2016 The Q30 was described as Infiniti's “most important car” when it launched in August 2016, as it looked to help bolster the Japanese brand's fledging local line-up. It joined the popular compact SUV segment as a competitor for the Audi Q3, BMW X1 and its cousin, the Mercedes-Benz GLA, upon which it was largely based. The crossover launched with a five-variant line-up that featured three drivetrains – which were donated from Mercedes-Benz – ranging from the base-model 1.6t GT to the top-spec 2.2d Sports Premium. Despite the lack of a reversing camera across the range, the Q30 offered a suite of driver assistance technologies like traffic sign recognition, as well as a five-star ANCAP safety rating.
