Mitsubishi prices 380 sedan

MITSUBISHI yesterday announced pricing details of its much heralded and eagerly awaited Magna replacement, the 380 sedan.

The large sedan makes a powerful value-for-money statement with lashings of standard equipment and a starting price for the base 380 – in five-speed manual guise – of $34,490. A five-speed Sports Mode automatic adds $1500.

The sports-themed VRX model is priced from $38,490 (for the manual), the auto LS from $40,990, while the high-series LX and GT five-speed Sports Mode autos are priced from $46,490 and $47,990 respectively.

All models are fitted with climate-control air-conditioning, four airbags, a trip computer, cruise control, six-speaker CD/MP3 stereo and electric windows, to name a few standard items. The five-warranty continues, along with five years of free roadside assistance.

Both the LX and GT have as standard sports-tuned suspension, a sunroof, leather trim, electric driver and passenger seats while the GT adds the VRX sports seats, rear park assist and a Bluetooth mobile phone kit.

Although based on the US Galant model, Mitsubishi claims 70 per cent of the car is Australian and features 2000 new components.

The MacPherson strut front suspension and multi-link rear have been extensively modified for Australian conditions. So good has Mitsubishi Australia’s work been that its parent MMC recognised the car as the best example of the global Galant platform on offer.
