Isuzu Ute reaffirms record-setting Aussie position

IUA praises dealers as D-Max and MU-X sales highest ever; record-setting year now assured

8 Dec 2023

ISUZU UTE AUSTRALIA has reiterated its intention of setting an all-time sales record Down Under in 2023 with D-Max and MU-X numbers setting new heights a month before the close of the calendar year.

The Japanese importer cast a new high score in November with a total of 4853 vehicles delivered, some 3692 of those its strongest-selling D-Max utility.

The Isuzu D-Max currently ranks as Australia’s third best-selling vehicle with year-to-date sales of 28,369 units – only the Ford Ranger (55,591) and Toyota HiLux (55,958) have performed better.

Australia’s top three selling vehicles are all dual-cab utes.

Isuzu Ute Australia is currently charting as the tenth best-selling brand in the country with 41,354 YTD deliveries. The year’s achievement comes just months after the brand celebrated the delivery of its 300,000th vehicle in Australia – an accomplishment that comes as the marque commemorates its 15th year in the country.

“Despite widespread logistical challenges seen throughout 2023, we are sincerely indebted to our dedicated Dealer network who have worked tirelessly to deliver a record number of D-MAX and MU-X this year,” said Isuzu Ute Australia managing director, Junta Matsui.

“I'm thrilled to confirm that with 4853 unit sales in November we've broken the 40,000 unit delivery milestone barrier; at the same time that we celebrate our 15th anniversary and our 300,000th delivery milestones.

“Our Dealer network remains committed to delivering as many vehicles as possible, as many customers are looking forward to hitting the road in their new Isuzu as they travel to see loved ones this festive season. Hopefully this positive trajectory continues as we see the year out.”

In celebration of the achievement, IUA welcomed over 250 guests from across Australia and the globe, including dealer and corporate staff from Japan and Thailand (where the models are produced), to an event at the Gold Coast Marriott.

Reflecting on its achievement, the brand also took time to look ahead to 2024, when it is expected a facelifted range will make its debut.

“It is great to see that both customers and the Australian motoring media have recognised the D-Max and MU-X as two of the best value vehicles available on sale today,” added Mr Matsui.

“With healthy levels of vehicle stock landing at dealers locally and this year shaping up to be the biggest year ever for our brand, we are optimistic that this positive trajectory will continue towards the end of the year as we aim for over 40,000 vehicle deliveries in 2023.”
