Seoul International Motor ShowSeoul: home show to the Hyundai-Kia worldwide sales push16 Jun 2011 By MIKE COSTELLO in SEOUL TITLE: Seoul International Motor Show WHERE: Seoul, South Korea WHEN: Every second year in March-April NEXT: 2013STATUS: International: Rising in importance off the back of the Hyundai-Kia juggernaut The Seoul International Motor Show is a biennial auto show held at the Korea International Exhibition Center at Ilsan in Seoul. In addition to passenger cars the Seoul show includes light and heavy commercial vehicles. The show was first held in 1995 around the time the Korean car industry was finding its feet as a key exporter to major Western car markets like North America and Europe (and Australia). The eighth show was held in March 2011. Hosted by the Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association (KAMA), It is recognized as an international show by the Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d'Automobiles. The 2011 show was the largest in the history of the event with participants from eight countries and 139 companies – 23 three from overseas. |
