Crowd pleaser: The Chicago Auto Show is sure to attract a lot of punters.

The Chicago show is done and dusted for another year, with SUVs taking centre stage in the Windy City.

Kia finally revealed its much-awaited Niro SUV, proving to be much larger than initially thought. Instead of being a baby crossover as first expected, the Niro could sit above the Sportage in the Korean car-maker's stable.

Chevrolet revealed its Trax compact SUV, that will be coming to Australia badged as a Holden.

And Toyota showed off its beefy Tacoma TRD Pro pick-up, however the Japanese car-maker is not in any hurry to bring it to Australian showrooms.

Next on the motorshow calendar is Geneva, one of the biggest and most exciting auto shows of the year. For all the news leading up to and during the Geneva show, keep an eye on GoAuto.com.au.

The Chicago show is now just around the corner, and while it is no longer the event for huge reveals and debuts, there will still be some exciting new metal on show.

Kia will take the covers off its much-anticipated Niro hybrid SUV in Chicago, and while details are scarce, it could sit below the Sportage in the small SUV segment, to compete with volume sellers like the Mazda CX-3 and Honda HR-V.
