Hino expands 300 Hybrid range

Trade-ready Hybrid Electric Built to Go range to score new addition from July

HINO AUSTRALIA is set to offer customers even more choice with a range of hybridised Built to Go models available in dealerships nationally from July.

 

The trade-ready range of 300 Series hybrid trucks utilise an electric starter-generator to assist the turbocharged diesel engine in achieving greater fuel economy, the regenerative braking offered also benefitting the life of the truck’s service brakes while simultaneously recharging the hybrid unit’s batteries.

 

Hino’s hybrid power unit uses a lightweight power control unit that encompasses the battery, inverter, engine control unit and a DC-DC converter in conjunction with the proven N04C-WR four-cylinder common-rail diesel to produce 110kW of power and 470Nm from a low 1200rpm.

 

The combination drives the rear wheels via a six-speed automated manual transmission (AMT).

 

Hino will offer is 300 Series Built to Go hybridised TradeAce range with a genuine aluminium ladder tray, ladder racks, nudge bar (616 narrow cab) or premium bullbar (616 and 716 wide cab) or. The model will be offered with a genuine alloy tray.

 

GWM ratings range from 4500kg to 6500kg.

 

Hino 300 Hybrid models are equipped as standard with a pre-collision safety system including autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection and lane departure warning. This is in addition to stability control, a reversing camera, dual front airbags, four-wheel disc brakes, hill start assist and a UN ECE R-29 certified safety cabin.

 

Like all Hino trucks, the 300 Series Hybrid is backed by a five-year warranty with capped-price servicing and roadside assist.

 

“Rising fuel prices and an increased focus from customer wanting to minimise their environmental impact has seen sales of Australia’s only hybrid electric light-duty truck soar,” said Hino Australia product strategy manager Daniel Petrovski.

 

“The introduction of the new alloy tray and TradeAce Built to Go models to our hybrid range offers customers a high quality, cost effective and versatile drive-away solution that can reduce business operating costs from day one.

 

“Not only do our hybrid models meet Euro 6 exhaust emissions standards, but recent real-world trials comparing the proven Hino Hybrid Electric truck against a traditional diesel equivalent revealed a 22 per cent reduction in fuel use and CO2 emissions.

 

“Hino 300 Series Hybrid customers can reduce yearly maintenance costs by up to 16 per cent.

 

“The new Hybrid Built to Ho models will be of particular appeal to tradespeople and small business operators who are seeking a versatile drive-away solution.”
