Bugatti reveals its Veyron supercar in final production form

17 Jun 2003

THE spectacular Bugatti Veyron supercar has been revealed in its final production form in Monte Carlo.

About 400 lucky guests got to see up close and personal a car little changed from the prototype that broke cover at the Geneva motor show last year.

At the heart of the Veyron is an incredible 1001hp (750kW) 8.0-litre W16 engine which also boasts a momentous 1250Nm of torque.

That translates to a 0-100km/h sprint in 2.9 seconds, a 0-300km/h time of 14 seconds and a top speed said to be over 400km/h! Compared to the Geneva show car, the only differences are a new air intake behind the front wheels and slightly altered front headlights and instrument clusters.

Designed to seat two passengers comfortably, the Veyron is 4.5 metres long, two metres wide and weighs in at 1600kg.
