Maybach unveils a wacky 515kW/1020Nm concept in the 350km/h Exelero super-coupe2 Jun 2005 MAYBACH has unveiled a high-performance Exelero custom coupe, built purely to show off the exclusive brand’s design capabilities and to help test new tyre technology. A modern interpretation of Maybach’s legendary streamlined sports car from the 1930s, the Exelero was produced for Fulda Reifenwerke, which is using the Exelero as a reference vehicle for a newly developed generation of wide tyres. The twin-turbocharged V12 two-seater develops 515kW of power and a massive 1020Nm of torque from 2500rpm. Despite a kerb weight of more than 2.6 tonnes, the super-coupe is claimed to have reached a top speed of 351.45km/h during testing on the high-speed Nardo track in Italy.All future modelsMotor industry news |
