During the early 1980s Saab, Fiat, Lancia and Alfa Romeo collaborated on the front-wheel drive Type-4 - a large-car platform that spawned the visually disparate 9000, Croma, Theta and 164. Saab's version, out from '86 to '97, is considered the most successful.

Saab models
