Ford updates Everest, Ranger for 2024

Pro Trailer Backup Assist, additional features, join pricier Ford Everest, Ranger line-ups

18 Jan 2024

FORD Australia is set to introduce new technologies and features to its Everest and Ranger line-ups for 2024.

Prices for the Ranger increase by up to $2450 with the line-up now starting from $36,880 plus on-road costs, while Everest pricing increased by as much as $2490 to begin from $53,990 +ORC (see table below).

Arriving as standard on selected MY24.5 Ranger models and optional on MY24.5 Everest is Pro Trailer Backup Assist which aims to make towing easier for Australian buyers. The technology is said to make reversing more intuitive than traditional methods, allowing steering of the vehicle via a console-mounted controller.

The system will be fitted as standard on Ranger Wildtrak, Platinum, and Raptor grades, and available as part of the optional Touring Pack on four-wheel drive XLT and Sport pick-up grades.

For Everest, Pro Trailer Backup Assist will be available as part of the Touring Pack on four-wheel drive Trend and Sport grades, replacing the Zone Lighting and black stand-off roof rail features, which now become standard. On Everest Platinum, an optional Pro Towing Pack will replace the Towing Pack option.

Additionally, Ford Australia will equip the Ranger XL with heavy-duty suspension as standard, the bundle including uprated rear springs and new front and rear dampers with a revised tune that aims to cater to those who regularly carry heavier loads.

For Ranger XLS we find the inclusion of the previously optional Tech and Towing Packs as standard, adding a tow bar, tongue, trailer light check, integrated trailer brake controller and extended blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage in addition to body-coloured door handles, keyless entry and ignition, dual-zone climate control, rear-seat air vents and upgraded SYNC 4A infotainment array with voice-activated controls, native sat nav, digital radio, and 12 months’ included connected navigation services.

Debuting as a standard feature on Ranger Platinum and Wildtrak X variants in 2024 is Ford’s innovative Flexible Rack System. The system will be offered optionally on Ranger Sport and Wildtrak.

Ford Australia says it has also made numerous changes to both the Everest and Ranger line-ups to “better reflect Australian buying habits”.

Several features that were previously optional extras will now be fitted as standard, with Everest Trend and Sport gaining Zone Lighting as standard, along with black stand-off roof rails, previously included as part of the Touring Pack for four-wheel drive models only.

In responding to customer preferences, the importer has also made the decision to remove a selection of Ranger and Everest grades from the line-up.

For Ranger, the XL bi-turbo dual-cab cab-chassis 4x2, XLS bi-turbo dual-cab pick-up 4x2, and XL bi-turbo super-cab pick-up 4x2 will no longer be available to order, while the Wildtrak X special edition will end its production run soon.

The Everest Trend rear-wheel drive will also be removed from the order list.

Production of the updated MY24.5 Ford Ranger and Everest line-up will commence in March.
