THE Cross Country offers high levels of personal security. Remote central locking (which includes the fuel filler) and an electronic immobiliser are expected standard fare, while doors also deadlock, which means a thief who accesses the car via a window won't be able to open the doors. Optional laminated glass also make the side windows harder to smash. Also optional is Volvo Guard Alarm which is activated by the same remote controller as the central locking system. Once you're out of the car, "approach lighting" and "home lighting" illuminate the path to and from the car.
