THE Passat's boot offers a large and deep loading area. A split-fold rear seat allows luggage carrying and passenger carrying versatility. The boot is a little lacking in height for loading awkward items like baby strollers, but the boot can be opened independently via the remote central locking control. Hinge design prevents possible damage to boot contents when lid is closed. Despite the Syncro's slight reduction in luggage compartment height, the volume is still a useful 400 litres.
