OPEN the tailgate and you're presented with a large, deep and flat luggage area that extends all the way to the front seats when the 60/40 split-fold is employed. The three rear headrests must unfortunately be removed (and stowed) to enable the seatback to fold down fully, but the rear seat cushions tumble forward neatly against the front pews to allow the seatback to sit flat. The luggage compartment is fully lined and has four tie-down anchorage points. A 12-volt power outlet is useful for items like a portable air compressor. Golf can hold up to 650 litres of luggage when the rear bench seat is upright.
