TWO words have made a world of difference for Volkswagen's small four-door: V6 and 4Motion. While "Bora" has carried little influence as a nameplate - and attracts nowhere near as much interest as the Golf upon which it is based - the sedan-named-after-a-wind now offers strong engine performance and better handling that should, combined with a torrent of standard equipment, get prestige shoppers taking more notice. Alas, there is no more interior space than when the car first arrived and it still lacks the harder edge of its major rivals.
