THE latest Toyota Tarago shares only its name with the egg-shaped MPV that became the benchmark people-mover during the early 1990s. But time has moved on and what was once class leading eventually became merely class competitive - just. Now a new, swoopy, square-edged, front-drive MPV steps in to take on the category and it certainly appears to have what it takes with better everything - including price - than its forebear. The only real shortcoming is the lack of a V6 engine.
