Sydney show: Toyota cuts Yaris, Corolla prices

The new prices are at least in part due to favourable exchange rates and apply to vehicles built from September and delivered from October 18.
Yaris prices have been dropped by up to 5.5 per cent, with the biggest saving the $950 shaved off the mid-range YRS three-door and five-door hatches.
Toyota has also added side, full-length curtain and driver’s knee airbags – previously a $750 option – to the YRS models as standard, and YRX models also now get the full suite of airbags.
Entry-level Yaris YR three-door has been reduced from $15,240 to $14,990.
Corolla prices have been reduced by up to 3.4 per cent, with the entry-level Ascent manual hatch now starting at $20,990, down from $21,740, while at the same time getting side curtain and driver’s knee airbags and rear power windows as standard.
Levin SX hatches are also fitted with the extra airbags (worth $500) and additionally gain a $700 price cut.
Toyota has lopped $190 from the price of the Levin ZR hatch, which now comes standard with a sunroof, while the Conquest hatch also gets a sunroof as well as a $610 price reduction.
Corolla Ascent and Conquest sedans, which had prices lowered between $260 and $400 with this year’s facelift in June, are fitted with the same features as their hatch equivalents.
The Ultima sedan, which went up $800 in June with the introduction of a bigger 2.0-litre engine, is now also equipped with a sunroof.
