THE RAV4's beefy front end features new four-pocket, clear-lens multi-reflector headlamps with turn signals embedded in the large front bumper. On the Cruiser variant the front fog lights are incorporated into the turn signals. The side profile shows the arch-shaped roofline and the introduction of a lot more curved edges. The use of side cladding has been toned right down. The new RAV4's rear combination lamps are larger and give the appearance of wrapping around the side of the vehicle. Rear visibility has been improved by lowering the mounting position of the spare wheel. Overall dimensions are up, yet aerodynamics have also improved drag coefficient is now down to 0.35Cd - not bad for a 4WD. The wheelbase has stretched by 80mm on both the three-door and five-door RAV4, now measuring 2490mm for the latter. Alloy wheels, power moonroof, rear spoiler, hard spare wheel cover, roof rails, painted cladding, mirrors and other body parts are features exclusive to the Cruiser model.
