ALL LandCruisers use a tandem vacuum-boosted hydraulic braking system. Where the anti-lock braking system is fitted - including GXL - the braking set-up is modified to include an ABS actuator with a proportioning and bypass valve. The ABS system can operate in low range and with the centre differential locked. It automatically disconnects when the rear diff is locked.
