THE 2001 Prado update saw a number of changes, mainly to improve convenience, but also to upgrade comfort. The former was addressed by adopting a 60-40 split-fold second row seat that allows easier access to the third-row seat. The new arrangement also allows a child seat/baby capsule to stay in place in the second row seat while the third row seat is being accessed. The Grande version gets power seats for both driver and front passenger, but the driver gains power lumbar and tilt adjustment as well. Three headrests are also provided for second row passengers while comfort is improved by extending the cushion length by 40mm. All models have new seat material and improved door trims. All seats in Grande are leather-trimmed.
