FOR 2001, Prado RV and GXL received minor changes to the vertical black grille, while the Grande and VX models have a horizontal-bar chrome grille. Wide wheel arches on the upmarket models help to relieve a slightly tall and narrow look, as do the chunky alloy wheels that are standard on the top of the range turbo-diesel, the Grande. A sunroof is standard on Grande and swing-out rear quarter windows help ventilation for back seat passengers.
